  • OCS HYBRID LEARNING MODEL  BEGINS JANUARY 25TH

Owyhee Combined School will begin instruction in the hybrid model on Monday, January 25, 2021. Hybrid learning combines face-to-face and distance learning into one cohesive experience. Approximately half of the students are on-campus, while the other half of students are working from home virtually. Further information on the hybrid learning model will be provided by mail.

    Robin Duperault has been a math teacher for the past 10 years. She has a B.A. in Math Education (2010), a B.S. in Mathematics (2010) and an M.S. in STEM Education (2019) from Boise State University.

    She has taught junior high and high school students every math subject from Prealgebra to Calculus 3. She has also taught math courses for the TRIO Upward Bound Summer Program several times since she became a teacher in 2010.

  • BRAVES AFTER HOURS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM IS NOW VIRTUAL
    Tutoring is available for all 1st-12th grade students Monday through Thursday from 3:15-4:15 pm followed by Enrichment from 4:15-5:15 pm. Students should login to meet.google.com at the appropriate time using their unique meeting nickname. All students who attend must complete and return the registration form electronically or return it to the school by mail. Registration forms will be emailed to each student who attends.     Open Gym for Owyhee High School athletes this week:
     
    • 3:15-4:15 pm
      • Monday, January 11th - Wrestling
    • Athletes must come dressed to participate as there will be no locker room access. They will need to bring their won water bottles and their own ball (basketball only). Mask wearing, temperature checks, and distancing will be enforce!
    • Do not arrive early. Staying late not permitted. No guests.
    • Please plan to attend an informational meeting if you are interested in participating. An information meeting will be held virtually at 11:45 am on Monday, (1/11) via Google Meet - Meet Code: GoBraves
  • GBC DRIVER EDUCATION

This course meets the Nevada DMV requirement of 30 hours of driver education for students under 18. Introduction to the laws, concepts, and practices of safe driving in Nevada. This course should lead to the student's ability to pass the Nevada Driver Written Examination.

  Requirements

·  You must be 15 years of age to enroll.

    The regularly scheduled Board of Trustees Meeting will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 5:30 pm (PST) in the Elko Board Room located at 850 Elm Street in Elko.

Owyhee Combined School will continue in the distance learning model. We will not begin face to face instruction in the hybrid model until an agreement between the Tribal Council and the school can be reached. The reopening committee has submitted a plan and we have been awaiting a response.

Students will be release early at 12:45 pm on Wednesday, November 25th due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. School will not be held on Thursday & Friday, November 26th & 27th.  Regular school hours will resume on Monday, November 30, 2020. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Tutoring is available for all 1st-12th grade students Monday through Thursday from 3:15-4:15 pm followed by Enrichment from 4:15-5:15 pm. Students should login to meet.google.com at the appropriate time using their unique meeting nickname.   • ECSD SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TUESDAY

    The regularly scheduled Board of Trustees Meeting will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 5:30 pm (PST) in the Elko Board Room located at 850 Elm Street in Elko.
